SMALL DIAL

Initially the dial was engraved with twelve roman numerals. A prototype dial made out gold indexes finally determined the aesthetics of the part.

STEEL BRIDGE

the prototype – tourbillon in Paris

The bridges of the timepiece were built out of german silver, exept two, which hold the second wheel and the tourbillon carriage pivot. These bridges are made of hardened steel, they have been tempered, received a polished bevelling and have been brushed on the side.

RATCHET WHEEL

The ratchet wheel is polished at its center and softned on the perimeter.

TOURBILLON BRIDGE

The decorating effect on bridges and main plate is done using charcoal and oil, this technique once decorated the best clocks and chronometers and allow an easy restauration. The sharp angles are filed at 45 ° to form a homogeneous bevelling which will be polished using paste and wood.

SECOND WHEEL

This part is a particularity of the tourbillon. Indeed, in a conventional caliber, the gear train is reduced and the wheels are consecutively smaller and smaller. The large second wheel achieved avoids the addition of an another wheel and the use of large teeth allows the realization of a high-performance gear.

LEVER SPRING

The flat parts of the time setting mechanism are bevelled, and “traits tirés” are made on the top.

BARREL BRIDGE

the prototype – tourbillon in Paris

The bridge that holds the barrel, is bevelled, decorated with charcoal and a polished molding decorates the barrel arbor hole. On the upper part of the bridge, some “traits tirés” add a second texture to the part.

LEVER

The prototype lever differs slightly from the version designed into the « series ». A cuproberillium peg allows its pivoting while the new one is directly integrated into the spring to form a single part.

CENTER WHEEL

Some circular graining is made on both sides of the wheels and polished bevelling is done on the arms.
